The RCBS Carbide 3-Die Set is a complete and essential tool kit for reloaders of the popular 9mm Luger and 9x21 cartridges. RCBS pioneered the 3-die set for straight-wall pistol cases, and this product continues that legacy of quality and precision. The key feature of this set is the Carbide Sizer Die, which completely eliminates the need to lubricate cases before sizing, making your reloading process faster, cleaner, and more efficient.

Die Functions & Features:

  1. Carbide Sizer Die (with Decapping Unit):
    This die resizes the fired case back to the correct dimensions while simultaneously removing the spent primer. The solid carbide sizing ring provides a smooth, non-stick surface that prevents cases from getting stuck, without the mess of case lube.
  2. Expander Die:
    After sizing, this die expands the case mouth to the proper diameter to accept a new bullet. It also applies a slight flare or "bell" to the case mouth, which is crucial for preventing damage to the bullet (especially coated or plated bullets) during the seating process.
  3. Seater Die (with Taper Crimp):
    This is the final die in the process. It performs two functions at once: it seats the bullet to your desired depth and applies a precise taper crimp. A taper crimp is essential for cartridges that headspace on the case mouth, like the 9mm Luger, ensuring reliable feeding and chambering in semi-automatic firearms.
